Lake Monsters Win Streak Now at 6 After 5-3 Victory | Jimmy T Williams did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Philadelphia Stars from losing, 5-3, to the Cleveland Lake Monsters at Connie Mack Stadium. Williams went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Storm Davis, who threw 88 pitches over 5 innings. The right-hander was charged with 3 runs on 6 hits. Hector Carrasco converted his 2nd save in 2 tries.
It could have been a different outcome for Cleveland, had it not been for Jack Heidemann, the 23-year old shortstop . Heidemann contributed a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put Cleveland up, 5-3.
Heidemann told a Cleveland Times reporter he was "pleased as punch" with the win.
Cleveland has now won 6 games in a row. | | | | |
