| Pussies Down Stars, 6-5 | Tampon Bay Pussies starter Scott Elarton pitched a strong game against the Philadelphia Stars at Connie Mack Stadium, leading the Pussies to victory, 6-5. Tampon Bay raised its record to 48-25 with the win.
The contest featured some late-game dramatics from Tampon Bay center fielder Kenny Lofton. In the top of the tenth inning, with two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Lofton hit a 2-run single to help Tampon Bay seize the win.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Tampon Bay manager Dan LaHousse.
