| Lake Monsters Tagged with 8-5 Loss | The Philadelphia Stars topped the Cleveland Lake Monsters by the score of 8-5, with the biggest share of the credit going to right fielder Elmer Flick. Flick was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Stars on the day. Diego Segui came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. His record now stands at 8-5. George Sharrott earned the save, his 9th in 11 tries.
Philadelphia first baseman Anthony Rizzo made his contribution to the Stars cause with a bases-clearing double in the bottom of the second inning. For the day, Rizzo went 2 for 5 with 2 doubles, while adding 3 RBI.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Philadelphia skipper Frank Borawski.
