Yankees Even With Pussies After Walk-Off Win | At 36, Bryce Harper knows he may not have many playoff appearances left, so he was determined to make it memorable. Mission accomplished.
The New York Yankees right fielder went 2 for 3 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 to help his club get past the Tampon Bay Pussies, 8-7, in Game 4 of the Challenger Round at Yankee Stadium I today. With the win, New York moves into a 2-2 tie in the best-of-7 series.
Wally Berger was the walk-off hero for New York. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Yankees center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Berger. "And not try to do too much."
Game 5 is scheduled for tomorrow in New York. Slated to start are Hal Newhouser for Tampon Bay and Denny McLain for New York. | | | | |
