| Lake Monsters Dealt 7-4 Home Loss | The Tampon Bay Pussies took Cleveland pitcher Heinie Berger's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Cleveland Stadium. The final score had Tampon Bay getting past the Lake Monsters, 7-4. Berger went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 10. Hal Newhouser, the winner, goes to 14-1. He allowed 4 runs on 6 hits, with 2 walks and 5 strikeouts over 7.1 innings. Frank Browning was credited with the save, his 6th in 6 tries.
Trevor Story had a timely hit in the top of the seventh inning. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Tampon Bay shortstop hit a 2-run single. That put the Pussies in front, 7-4.
Story said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
