Stars Take Nail-Biter Over Pussies | The Philadelphia Stars had to overcome a fine effort from Tampon Bay pitcher Jim Bunning to grab a narrow 5-4 win at Connie Mack Stadium. Bunning went 6 innings and allowed 4 runs. With the win, Philadelphia goes to 67-79, while the Pussies fall to 97-49.
The Stars procured the win, in large part because of third baseman Brandon Inge. In the bottom of the tenth, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Inge. | | | | |
